Who doesn’t love Sunday? Sleep. Watch football. Eat. Repeat. There’s nothing about this day that isn’t awesome. And when January brings a wintry chill, you need to make sure you’re prepared for it with the perfect outfit for every activity. One of my favorite Sunday musts is brunch. I love to meet my friends at a fun eatery and enjoy some fabulous food. It’s important for me to be comfortable, yet chic, during our brunch outings. That’s why I layer up my look with cozy clothing goodness.

The Outfit

Sundays are always a leggings day for me, and I adore these black velvet leggings from Ruff Hewn GREY. They are wonderfully comfortable, and the velvet is unexpected and on trend. I added a crisp white tunic by Ralph Lauren for a more refined finish — but with a bit of length for a flattering look. But the fun really begins with the coat. This soft, buttery topper with a cute plaid design is the perfect boyfriend-cut coat for winter. Its goes-with-anything color palette is perfectly versatile, so I can wear it with a variety of colors and styles.

The Accessories

I added a blanket scarf in a contrasting, yet neutral, plaid for an extra layer of warmth and posh. Plus, I can remove the coat and still feel toasty warm in this soft and voluminous scarf. I love layering options, and this coat and/or scarf combo is a street chic option. And can we talk about this floppy hat? By Sunday, my hair is 90 percent dry shampoo, so I love to toss on a fun hat. This ode to ’70s boho is the perfect choice. Even though Sunday is a comfort day, I love a heeled boot. These Calvin Klein peep-toe suede booties are fresh in a light taupe, and the heel elongates my legs in these velvet leggings. Too chilly for open toes? Add a pair of fun ankle or knee-high patterned hosiery for a cute pop of print!

Whether you’re a pancakes or omelet gal, you’ll want to look fab and feel great when chit-chatting over a leisurely Sunday brunch. Try your hand at a cool layered look for your next brunch date!
