Red Carpet Dresses Preview

Dresses buyer, Lindsey, gives us the insider scoop on trends and dress styles to watch for on the red carpet next weekend!

We love award season here in the dresses office! Seeing the season’s newest trends on our favorite stars is what we live for. There are plenty of key trends we’re seeing on the red carpet that you need to know about! Not planning on wearing a full length gown anytime soon? You can still incorporate these trends into your everyday wear by taking colors and design details into consideration. Here are my top picks for trends to watch for on the red carpet this year:

Trend #1: Pantone Color of the Year

“Greenery” is the official Pantone color of the year and we’re starting to see it everywhere. It’s a toss-up on which shade of green is best but for now we’re loving the deeper shades because it’s easiest for all skin tones to pull off. Our Nicole Miller embellished gown will have your girlfriends green with envy.

Trend #2: Mod Embroidery

Black and white combos almost never go out of style. We love interpreting this classic trend in a not-so-basic way with our Nicole Miller hi-low gown. The pops of embroidery and sequins make this dress special enough for any occasion.

Trend #3: Bright Stripes

We’re obsessing over stripes this spring – our favorite red carpet moments have been from ladies rocking stripes, hands down! If you’re bolder than the rest, have fun with stripes by sporting our Nicole Miller off shoulder stripe dress. Not only is the playful print exciting, this dress also covers the season’s biggest trend: shoulder detail. Mix the stripes with the off shoulder silhouette and you’re ready to rock.

Trend #4: Blush Pink

Move over basic hues and make room for this year’s new neutral, blush! Since blush will be a staple in your wardrobe, you need our Adrianna Papell blush gown. Calling all bridesmaids, red carpet guests and black tie attendees: make this your go to dress of 2017. This dress is definitely a multi-use purchase and a big bang for your buck. Simply switch up your accessories and beauty for a fresh look each time!

Trend #5: Not-So-Basic Black

The red carpet has been full of show-stopping black dresses. We love our Betsy & Adam floor length black gown for multiple reasons but mainly because it compliments most figures. What makes this a show stopper is the flirty leg slit and gorgeous illusion neck detail.

Trend #6: Delicate Beading

Sequins and appliques have dominated the red carpet this season. Adrianna Papell has a beautiful one shoulder sequin dress with floral appliques giving you just the right balance of sparkle. This feminine find is a gorgeous interpretation of the red carpets hottest trend.

Trend #7: Pops of Pink

Hello, pops of pink! We’re obsessed with a good pop color and who doesn’t love pink? Laundry’s hi-low gown is perfectly pink. The simple silhouette balances out the bright color making this a go to for all bright color lovers.
