The light and airy boho dress often get the reputation for being a wardrobe staple that’s only practical during the warm summer months. But like many stereotypes, that’s simply not the case. Boho dresses are just as fabulous for fall, winter and spring when you add a few key accessories. I can’t get enough of this free-spirited Max Studio frock, and plan to wear it — seasonably styled — all-year long! Here’s how.

The Outfit

This Max Studio dress immediately caught my eye. I love the ease of a flowy boho dress — even when you’re having an “I feel chunky” day, you’ll feel confident and beautiful in a dress of this shape. But I also love the fact that bohemian dresses are great for many occasions, depending on how you accessorize them. For work, add a turtleneck, blazer and pumps. Heading out on a date? Toss the blazer and grab a cropped leather jacket and sexy booties. Sunday brunch with friends? A cute sneaker and chunky knit sweater make it great. The options are truly endless. I chose to keep it simple to show off all the gorgeous details of this dress, but on a chillier day, I’d add a cropped suede jacket for a fun ’70s interpretation. How will you make it your own?

The Accessories

In early spring, it’s vital to layer a look to stay warm. That’s why I always have a pair of black hosiery on hand to keep my legs warm. Opaque hose will keep you toasty warm and give off a leggings vibe while sheer hose will add a touch of ’90s cool-girl style to this romantic dress. While over-the-knee boots or ankle booties are another great option, I also love a fun pointy-toe heel (especially with shimmery grommets!) to set off this floral frock. A pair of drop earrings and a few strands of sparkly beads around my wrist are just enough pieces of jewelry to let this dress shine. One of my favorite parts of this look is the crossbody bag — with its velvety finish, it’s the perfect finishing touch.

There’s no reason to keep your beautiful boho dresses locked away in the closet until summer. Adding a turtleneck, blazer, sweater or jacket — and hosiery, of course — makes it a cinch to bring these flowy frocks into your early spring rotation!
