There are a million different ways to spend Mother’s Day, from family brunches to one-on-one time with mom at the nail salon. A dress is the perfect look to wear on Mother’s Day, because it’s easy to throw on for instant femininity–and less time getting ready translates into more time spent with mom! I put together five pretty frocks perfect for some common Mother’s Day activities, so you can be prepared with a gorgeous dress to wear next Sunday.
If you and your family are heading out for a traditional Mother’s Day brunch, it’s best to opt for a dress with a higher neckline in a pretty spring color. This pink fit-and-flare is perfect for spring, and I love that it has pockets! Tip: add a belt around the waist to add dimension and split up the stripes.
Manicure with Mom
Heading to the nail salon with mom is a great way to get some one-on-one time with your special lady. Go for a comfy dress in a t-shirt material so that all you have to worry about is gossiping with your mom for an hour while you get pampered. Add some cute sandals to complete the look!
Day at the Zoo
If you have younger siblings or cousins, you may very well find yourself at the zoo or museum (keep reading!) on Mother’s Day. I love this fun caftan style dress for this occasion–you’ll fit right in at the tropical bird exhibit! Make sure you opt for comfy sandals, since you will be doing plenty of walking.
Not to play favorites, but this is totally my preferred way to spend Mother’s Day with my mom–after all, moms deserve nothing more than a day of complete relaxation! I like this tie dye dress, because it matches the relaxing spa vibes. It’s easy to slip off into a spa robe, and slip back on for a post-massage lunch.
Sharing the day with your mom at the museum can be very special if you both appreciate the finer things in life. This multicolored abstract-inspired dress is like moving art itself! Pair with booties for a trés chic final touch.
I hope you all have the most wonderful Mother’s Day with your mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and all the other strong, special women in your life! I’ll be spending the day with my mother watching our favorite baseball team (go Giants!), and reminding her how special she is to me every chance I get. Happy Mother’s Day!
