I have been hyperaware of style & trends since before I can remember, and knew early on that there was no mountain high enough or valley low enough that would keep me from working in fashion.
I grew up in San Jose, California, a technology-saturated city with prime proximity from San Francisco: the ultimate mecca for West Coast fashion (sorry, LA) that would come to influence my life, and closet, forever. I came to Milwaukee, WI to attend Marquette University, where I studied PR & Marketing, and got to know and love this amazing city along the way. It is here that I got my start with Bon-Ton, and I haven’t looked back since. I love spending my days researching the latest trends, writing witty copy for our social posts, and getting into some weird positions to get the perfect shot for Instagram. #ForTheGram
Aside from being in love with my job, I like to work out, read a good book, lay on the beach, hike & be one with nature, cuddle up with my cat, go to music festivals, check out one of my many bookmarked restaurants from Yelp, and write. You can coax me into pretty much anything with an iced coffee or a pair of shoes (or both…). I’m an avid sports fan and I will support the Giants, Sharks, 49ers, & Warriors until the very end. I sometimes get mean looks from Wisconsinites when I sport my team gear, but that’s the price one must pay for dedication. I’ve got a tough skin. #NotSorry
My style can best be described as “black.” It is the first color I gravitate to, and you can often find me hounding sales associates, asking “Do you have this in black?!” If the answer is “no,” I get sad. I often go for timeless pieces that can be dressed up or down, leopard is my favorite neutral, and Chuck Taylors will forever be the greatest sneaker of all time. Spending $200 on a pair of jeans really DOES make a big difference, and lipstick can elevate your entire look. I don’t follow a whole lot of fashion rules, but these are musts for me.
I cannot wait to get started with the #LoveStyle team as a blogger, and look forward to sharing my two cents through the eyes of a Young Contemporary (because I’m young, and also contemporary) fashionista. Cheers!
