Very Merry Outfits for Boys

These holiday-ready looks for your dapper dude are perfect for little boys recitals and holiday events.

While kids can get away with taking fashion “risks” most of the year, the holidays are a clear exception. Between school recitals and plays, church activities, family dinners and neighborhood gatherings, December is the month that children need to step up their studly style. Luckily, fashionable options abound — even for little boys. Here’s a look at some of my top picks for fashionable duds for your dapper dude this holiday season:

  1. The Junior Stud: He may be young, but he’s already got the wink down pat. And that means he’ll want to look extra fresh this holiday season. A classic blue vest/pant combo, set off by a trendy plaid shirt and burgundy tie, should do the trick.
  2. The Baby Hipster: Even as a baby, he’s way too aloof to look like he spent too much time on his outfit. A casual-chic pair of khakis and a whimsical bow tie perfectly punctuate his devil-may-care style. But don’t forget the must-have shawl sweater to complete the Portland-ready look.
  3. The Mix-and-Match Pro: Between sports, school, Snapchat and girls, his closet is a mixed bag of jerseys, graphic tees, denim and a stray blazer. Luckily, his eclectic wardrobe can be easily be mixed and matched to create his own unique holiday style. A velvet blazer, casual black pant and red plaid shirt create a cool outfit for a young man with his own personal style.
  4. The Geek-Chic Charmer: A master of mischief and a lover of books, he is the only one who fully understands how to use your iPhone after the latest update. But who can resist that devilish grin and his wacky shirt and bow tie combos? This Nautica set is his perfect match.
  5. The Adorable Santa’s Helper: Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow — this wee one can’t hide his love for all things Christmas. And he loves nothing more than to give his favorite snowman props by donning a vest with his likeness. The plaid shirt and corduroy pants finish this cheek-pinchingly cute look to frosty fabulousness.

What’s your son’s style personality? From hipster babes to Santa’s little helpers, there’s plenty of options to ensure your little one looks posh this holiday season. Which dapper style will you choose?

Very Merry Santa Outfits

Check out our picture-perfect outfits for visiting with Santa.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas … and while your children are making their lists (and checking them twice), your mind is wandering in another direction: What will they wear to see Santa? The Santa photo is a childhood must, and the outfit is nearly as important as finding just the right Santa’s lap to sit upon. (After all, only one can be the real St. Nick!)

But not to worry — I’ve found five outfits that will make sure your little one’s Santa photo is as posh as can be. Here’s a look at some of my favorite finds for your wee fashionista:Outfits to see Santa for girls

  1. The Glamour Girl: Let’s face it: Some little girls love to go for the glam! This holiday, indulge her inner diva with a ’60s-inspired shift dress that’s ultra chic in creamy lace. The sequined collar and bell sleeves add a little holiday spice. Vixen who?
  2. The Funky Scholar: A too-cool-for-school polar bear sweater paired with an eclectic sequined lace skirt? Oh yeah, your young Einstein has a flair for the funky. And what a better time for a little sparkle and shine than the holiday season? (Geek-chic specs optional)
  3. The Traditional Babe: Ok, so she’s probably too young to be making any major fashion decisions — so this ones all you, mom and dad! You can’t go wrong with a classic Ralph Lauren plaid fit-and-flare dress for your littlest angel. A few years later she’ll look back at her Santa photo praising her parents’ great taste (that is, if she wants to stay on the nice list …)
  4. The Wild Child: A little boho, a little rock ’n’ roll: Either way, she’s got a wonderful wild streak that shines through in her daring style. This Christmas, let her yuletide glee break free with a cute mix-and-match of luxe studded leggings, a Santa-approved graphic tee and trendy faux fur vest. She’ll be jingle bell rockin’ all the way to Santa’s wonderland.
  5. The Golden Girl: “Metallic” is her favorite color and she leaves a trail of sequins wherever she goes. Your little girl is all about making the holidays merry and (above all) bright. Let her go for the gold with a simple yet chic metallic gold skater dress with a matching belt. Add a fun fur cardigan and sequined hair clip to amp up the glow on your shining star.

5 Very Merry Hostess Dresses

Lovely dresses for the hostess with the mostess, from classic to modern glam.

There are many things that make a great hostess —a welcoming home, fab décor, crowd-pleasing food and drink and even the perfect parting gift. But let’s be real: the first thing everyone will notice is your dress. From a classic A-line to a modern cold shoulder, there is an amazing dress for every hostess’s shape and style. Here’s a look at five of my favorite party frocks for the fabulous hostess this holiday season:

Favorite hostess dresses

  1. The Glam Hostess: A silky fabric, stunning blush shade, curve-hugging side ruching, jeweled applique and one-shoulder style converge to create a picture-perfect dress for the most glamorous of hostesses, courtesy of Eliza J.
  2. The Bohemian Hostess: Reminiscent of summer’s boho chic festival dresses — with a hefty dose of cocktail sophistication — this high-neck lace dress by Nicole Miller is ideal for the hostess with a free-spirit. And that slit back … swoon!
  3. The Classic Hostess: The A-line dress is a classic favorite for good reason — it’s flattering on all shapes and is the ultimate waist definer. The brocade finish, halter neckline and convenient pockets make this a comfortable and very chic choice for the classic hostess.
  4. The Risk-Taking Hostess: A cold shoulder can still offer a very warm welcome. This Adriana Papell LBD, which rocks a modern cold shoulder neckline, is a posh option for fashion-forward hostesses that want to amp up the sultry factor. Just add statement earrings for a fierce look.
  5. The Romantic Hostess: Red is a must-have color for the holidays, and it’s both contemporary and oh-so romantic for hostesses who covet ladylike designs. The illusion lace is unexpected, giving this lacy frock a modern twist.

No matter your personal style, you are sure to find a hostess dress that will be the toast of the town. And don’t forget your party shoes!

Finishing Touches

Holiday Home Decor

Ornaments hold a special place in our hearts– for how small they are, they have a big role during the holiday season. Ornaments can remind us of loved ones, memories we hope to cherish for a lifetime, and can even be silly enough to get a giggle out of your grumpy uncle!

This holiday season, make it a point to share stories of ornaments you have, and find a new tradition with family members to keep the memories alive + pick up a few new ones to add to your tree! New parents in your family? Gift them an adorable ornament they can put up every year, honoring their first Christmas as parents.blog-divider8
