Introducing: Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines

Refresh your living space with beautiful, decorative accents from the new Magnolia Home line

Magnolia Home

Shop All Pillows

Joanna Gaines has become a (well decorated) household name; she is the co-star of the hit show Fixer Upper on HGTV, with her adorable and handy husband, Chip. She owns an amazingly chic and beautiful company, Magnolia, in Waco, Texas. On top of all this, Joanna is a mother to four adorable children.

Her simple, fresh and keen eye for home design and decor has turned her into an icon; #shiplap anyone? Naturally, she partnered up with Loloi to create a beautiful home decor line called Magnolia Home, that we now have the honor to carry on our website and in select stores!

We currently have her beautiful line of decorative pillows, each unique and brilliant in their own way. We love everything about them; from the tassels to the embroidered detail. We won’t have a hard time finding a spot for a few of them in our homes.

Happy decorating + cheers to channeling our inner Joanna Gaines!

Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses: Gold and Champagne

Tips from a bride on how to pull off the mismatched bridesmaid dress trend

The days of traditional, matching dresses for your bridal party are fleeting. Mismatching bridesmaid dresses are taking over the wedding world. And I’m here to say – Amen!

Let’s face it. The typical bridal party comes in all shapes, sizes, styles and personalities. Rarely does one dress match each bridesmaids’ taste. By allowing each bridesmaid to select a dress that fits her body type and style – you can ensure she’ll be comfortable and confident on your big day. (Read: There’s officially no excuse for her to not get out there on the dance floor!)

With wedding season on the horizon, we’re kicking off a new series that will feature mismatched bridesmaid dresses, shoes and accessories. You’d be amazed at the variety of dresses we carry. (As a recent bride, I can personally attest that the majority of my bridesmaids found their dresses at – you guessed it – Bon-Ton. Keep reading, I’ll share details later.)

One of the hottest bridesmaid dress trends this season is a mix of gold and champagne bridesmaid dresses. We selected and styled six of our favorite dresses to show you how they could fit together to make the perfectly coordinated bridal party.

How My Bridesmaids Wore the Mismatched Dresses Trend

Mismatched Gold and Champagne Bridesmaid Dresses

On a gorgeous sunny day last July, I said “I do” to the man of my dreams. Everything about the day was perfect. I had my best friends by my side and every last detail went off without a hitch.

From the moment Spencer proposed, I knew that my bridesmaids would play a major role in our big day. They have been my wing women, my cheerleaders and my partners in crime throughout all of life’s ups and downs – and on my wedding day I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Having been in several weddings myself, I know that bridesmaid dresses can be quite a big investment. It was important to me that my bridesmaids got their money’s worth. But more than anything, I wanted my bridesmaids to feel comfortable and confident in their dresses. Each of them has such a unique personality and style, I wanted their dresses to match their tastes. With these things in mind, I opted to have each bridesmaid select their own dress.

5 Tips for Coordinating Mismatched Bridesmaid Dresses

  1. Start with a color palette. (Some things to consider when putting together your color palette: The time of year, venue, dress, flowers, skin tone.) My color palette wasn’t exclusively champagne and gold. I also included hints of mint and sage. Champagne and Neutral Wedding Color Palette Continue reading →

Red Carpet Dresses Preview

Dresses buyer, Lindsey, gives us the insider scoop on trends and dress styles to watch for on the red carpet next weekend!

We love award season here in the dresses office! Seeing the season’s newest trends on our favorite stars is what we live for. There are plenty of key trends we’re seeing on the red carpet that you need to know about! Not planning on wearing a full length gown anytime soon? You can still incorporate these trends into your everyday wear by taking colors and design details into consideration. Here are my top picks for trends to watch for on the red carpet this year:

Trend #1: Pantone Color of the Year

“Greenery” is the official Pantone color of the year and we’re starting to see it everywhere. It’s a toss-up on which shade of green is best but for now we’re loving the deeper shades because it’s easiest for all skin tones to pull off. Our Nicole Miller embellished gown will have your girlfriends green with envy. Continue reading →
